Business delegation from Shenyang Province, China visits Sri Lanka for business meetings hosted by the Sri Lanka-China Business Council
- On March 26, 2015
A large business delegation from the province of Shenyang of the People’s Republic of China attended a business and networking session hosted by The Sri Lanka-China Business Council on Thursday 26th of March, 2015. This is the second in a series of 5 Chinese business delegations visiting Sri Lanka between March 24th and April 1st.
The main purpose of this visit was to strengthen existing bilateral ties and to help cultivate business relationships between Shenyang province and Sri Lanka. The delegates from Shenyang represented a variety of fields and business interests, such as the Shenyang Municipal Government, the International Trade Company of Brilliance Auto and Liaoning Qiangfeng Aluminum Industry Engineering Co., Ltd as well as Qiangfeng Sri Lanka.
A large crowd of around 60 representatives consisting of SLCHBC Committee Members and other Sri Lankan companies greeted the delegates at the networking session. There was diverse representation of local companies, from business areas such as the automobile industry, aluminium industry, international trade, travel agencies and many more. This was a key opportunity for Sri Lankan businesses to interact with those at the top of their fields in Shenyang, one of the top industrial centres in China, particularly notable in heavy industry, such as aerospace and heavy equipment.
The Sri Lanka-China Business Council signed a memorandum of understanding for future collaboration with the Shenyang delegation to conclude a successful and mutually beneficial visit. One key feature to note in the MoU is that the two parties have agreed to link the official websites of the Shenyang representatives with the SLCHBC website (www.srilankachina business.cn). The SLCHBC will assist interested parties from Shenyang in identifying potential reliable business partners while providing information on the business environment and opportunities in Sri Lanka.
